Growing up as a young man in the city of Chicago, I developed an interest in photography. In 1980, I joined the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego. After six months in the navy, I was assigned to the USS Ranger CV61 that was on West-Pac in the Indian Ocean. Before returning to San Diego, I purchased my first camera, a 35 mm Cannon AE-1 Program, in Subic Bay, Philippines which I shoot with to this day.

 

At that moment my journey into photography began. I took a photography class and learned how to develop film in a dark room setting. In 1987, I was honorably discharged from the navy. One year later, I began a 27 year career in law enforcement and my photography interests were put on hold.

in 2015, I retired from law enforcement, purchased a DSLR Cannon 5D Mk IV with all the accessories to start a business and continue the journey..

I chose the name Platinum Image Photography, because my goal is to capture and provide digital images equal to that of platinum standards. The main objective of my business is to share with the world my artistic view of life through a lens. To assist me with capturing these images, I also use a DJI Phantom  4 Pro Drone for aerial shots.  So, now that you have a little insight into my background continue down this journey with me by allowing Platinum Image Photography to capture your next precious moments.
